Coronavirus in Ecuador - Covid19

According to the World Health Organization  “Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans.  In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The most recently discovered coronavirus causes coronavirus disease COVID-19

The risk depends on where you are – and more specifically, whether there is a COVID-19 outbreak unfolding there.

For most people in most locations, the risk of catching COVID-19 is still low. However, there are now places around the world (cities or areas) where the disease is spreading. For people living in, or visiting, these areas the risk of catching COVID-19 is higher. Governments and health authorities are taking vigorous action every time a new case of COVID-19 is identified. Be sure to comply with any local restrictions on travel, movement or large gatherings. Cooperating with disease control efforts will reduce your risk of catching or spreading COVID-19.

COVID-19 outbreaks can be contained and transmission stopped, as has been shown in China and some other countries. Unfortunately, new outbreaks can emerge rapidly. It’s important to be aware of the situation where you are or intend to go. WHO publishes daily updates on the COVID-19 situation worldwide”

It originated in China, presumptively from a traditional livestock market in Wuhan, where local Chinese consumers purchase exotic animals as part of their dietary, and traditional medicine believes, none of which have any scientific backing.

The Wuhan Region from where it initiated, have been in quarantine for the past 60 days, the Chinese Government soon isolated and quarantined the region in order to stop the spread, however, the virus found it´s way out, by airports, as flights were not canceled, soon after, European countries started to report their first cases of the presence of the virus, this is very simple to understand as the Chinese population have Europe as their first priority when traveling.

Italy has taken important measures first isolating the northern region first, and just recently the entire country, to prevent more infections, and Spain has also taken some similar measurements too.

As the information develops, health organizations across the world, have made it clear that the most vulnerable population are the elderly, and people with low, or weak immune systems, which causes a huge concern, since European countries have a considerable number of population ranging the 60 – 90 years of age (Seniors).

Coronavirus in EcuadorEven though there is not known and proven medicine to prevent the virus, most of the reported cases, are been treated with the habitual “common flue” drugs, quarantine which is the most effective practice, and even with traditional house medicine, such as hot teas, vitamin c and so on.

Coronavirus is causing a huge impact in the world, especially in tourism, as many countries are taking measurements into preventing the fast spread of the virus in their regions, you can check the real statistics of the development of the Coronavirus by country here

Coronavirus in Ecuador – Covid19 – Ecuador has only a few cases of the virus reported, the outspread as far as March 11th, 2019 is under control, most people started prevention measurements soon, which implies that it is actually safer to travel to South America, than to any country in Europe.

From what we understand the number of recovering surpasses the death fatalities by more than 800%, once again if you want to take a look at official statistics you can check it out in the World meter official website: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

Media has caused a huge panic in the people which has implied into the economic crisis of 2020, we eagerly suggest everyone follow only official information and realistic statistics only, even though we do recommend people to take prevention measurements into serious considerations, there is not a real reason to cancel, or drop your trip to Ecuador, in fact, you may be able to catch very good deals as airlines are struggling to maintain themselves in business.

You can learn how to prevent getting infected by following the recommendations given by the WHO, for more info click here
